The Advertisements That The Tobacco Companies
Use
The problems of the advertisements
are they lie about everything. For girls they say that they will
get thinner, and will look beautiful, for boys it is another lie
about getting really strong. They show these pictures to these
younger people, like teenagers, and they will get sucked in by
this and right away start smoking or using tobacco products any
way.
In 1994 they said that the majority of all the fifteen- year old
students have smoked and actually made smoking a big habit. That's
a young age to start smoking, but that is what the tobacco companies
want. They want to make sure that younger teens get addicted.
It gets younger still. If teenagers are going to smoke they usually
start around the ages of twelve, thirteen, and fourteen.
The only way I can back this up is with all the research that
I found about the ads that get the teens addicted today, that
makes up for the older people that had quit, or had died from
this dangerous drug.
When people switch brands to a lighter style of cigarettes, well,
they are actually the same thing, and do the same thing to you.
Which means they would eventually kill you and that would not
be on a ad as well. If you want to quit and you know it is bad
for you, just stop smoking because they will try to get you on
what they say is a "lighter" style of cigarette.
Where I Got My Information
A movie we watched in class
Research shows tobacco companies adds to get young people addicted.
