Landscape around Medstead

There is a coulee on my families farm. We also have a creek, a really, really, really big hill and an old homestead by the creek and the hill. No, we do not live in the old homestead! We'd freeze, because it is half fallen down!

The creek is called Lost Horse Creek. They call it that because lots of horses would go there to drink and go in too far, get stuck and drown. We have to drive through the creek to check our cows when they are on that land. We skip rocks there and have picnics there as well as up on the big hill which is not even a quarter of a mile away from the creek!

The big hill is very big. It is also very steep. You have to be going quite fast to make it up it, even with a 4x4 truck.

This is me on the hill.

Do you have very many fields in or around London? We have lots and lots of them. In fact, my dad is a farmer!

Birch lake is quite close to Medstead. Around birch lake there is a lot of forest. There are no fields around there. It is mostly all spruce trees in the forest. Darrel lives in the forest reserve there. It is very quiet except for the birds chirping and the occasional car. There are not many cars or trucks in the forest by Birch lake.
