RAIL ROADS: The total railroads are 24,500 km.
HIGHWAYS: The total number of highways are 242,300 km.
INLAND WATERWAYS: It has 2,900 km of navigatable rivers and coastal canals.
AIRPORTS: The total number of airports are 2,055.
TOTAL POPULATION: The total is approximately 98,552,776(est. July 1998).
RELIGIONS: 89% of the people are Roman Catholic, while 6% are Protestant.
LANGUAGE: The languages of Mexico are Spanish, and various Mayan dialects.
Info: Hundreds of years ago, Indians of Mexico built large cities, developed a calendar, invented a counting system, and used a form of writing. The last Indian empire in Mexico- that of the aztec- fell to Spanish invaders in 1521. For the next 300 years, Mexico was a Spanish colony. The Spaniards took Mexico's riches, and the Indians remained poor and uneducated. But the Spaniards also introduced many changes in farming, government, industry, and religion.
