Letter from England
Dear Grade 5 Class,
My name is Sabrina. I am 9 years old. In London it's ok. We go
to school by walking, or by car, if you live far away. There are
lots of shops and lots and lots of towns and big streets. There
are also many cinemas with all sorts of movies to watch.
London has places where you can play sports too. There are many
swimming pools and tennis centres. There are quite a few bridges
in this city. Have you heard of the big tower in London with a
clock on it? It is the biggest clock in London. It is called Big
Ben.
Ok, I have told you lots of stuff. Tell me about Canada. How do
you go to school? How many towns are there? Are there lots of
farms and cows?
Well, that's enough form me. I hope I can write to you soon again.
From Sabrina

Dear Sabrina,
My name is Aleta. I'm in grade 5. I'm 10 years old . I will be
11 on March 7. I live on a farm. It is a Purebred Charolais farm.
There are lots of farms and cows in Saskatewan.
I get to school by bus. It takes half an hour there and back.
Yes, I have heard of Big Ben.
My favorite sports are curling and soccer [ Soccer is Football
to you].
I have a dog, 4 cats, a horse and a cow. My horse's name is Doc.
My cow's name is Maud as in Lucy Maud Montgomery.
Have you heard of her?
There, I've told you a lot of stuff. Now I have four questions
for you.
Do you have snow in London? Do you have any brothers or sisters?
How many bridges are there in London? What's your favorite sport?
I hope you write to me again soon.
Yours sincerely,
Aleta
