Letters from St. Francis of Assisi
Dear Grade 5 Class,
My name is Amber and I am 10 years old. I was born in St. Mary's
hospital (in London). My favourite things are drawing and reading
poems. I get to school by feet, meaning walking. I live near to
a church called St. Francis of Assisi, that is what my school
is called too. I live in a basement that is very big. I have got
lots of toys. The toy I have the most of are teddies, I've got
a whole bed full of them.
I have 6 pets. One of them was a guinea pig and it had to be put
down. Another was a dog and it had to be put down too. The fish
died, and my other dog had a heart attack! The fish died as well.
Out of 6 pets I have only 2 left, a hamster and a fish.
My favourite sports are gymnastics and running. Now I have a few
questions for you. What is it like in the countryside? Does it
snow a lot where you live? Are your houses big?
Thank-you for reading this letter.
Yours Sincerely,
Amber
Reply from Medstead Central School
Dear Amber,
My name is Kristen and I got your letter. I'm 11 years old and
in grade 6. The countryside is nice and open. There are lots of
plants and fields. There is a lot of snow at this time of year
and it is fun to play in. Some houses are big here but some are
small. I go to Medstead Central School and I walk to get there
because I don't live far.
I collect Ty Beanie Babies and like to play the piano. I also
like to read. Especially Harry Potter and Nancy Drew mysteries.
I also like to play Nancy Drew computer games. My favorite sports
are softball, soccer and badmonton. I also like running. My favorite
food is pizza and my birthday is on June 14th.
I used to have 2 pets. A cat and a dog but they both died. I have
one brother named Jeremy and he is 13 years old. Do you have any
siblings? What is it like in London? Do you ever get snow? Have
you ever been to Buckingham Palace?
Yours Truly,
Kristen
